DESCRIPTION:This lecture presents key arguments from Islam & Constructive
Interreligious Engagement (Bloomsbury\, 2026)\, a forthcoming study by Pro
 f. Dr. Adis Duderija (Griffith University). Situated within the emergi
ng field of Islamic Comparative Theology\, the lecture explores contempora
ry Muslim approaches to interreligious dialogue that are theologically rig
 orous\, methodologically reflective\, & ethically transformative. Drawing
on Catherine Cornille’s influential framework for constructive interreli
gious engagement\, Prof. Dr. Duderija examines the work of several pro
minent Muslim thinkers\, identifying both the theological resources & the
doctrinal challenges within the Islamic tradition for meaningful interreli
gious engagement. Particular attention is given to Muslim scholarship in t
he German‑speaking academic context. The lecture argues that sustainable
forms of interreligious dialogue require greater methodological self‑co
nsciousness and a deeper engagement with classical Islamic orthodoxy.
