This lecture presents key arguments from Islam & Constructive Interreligious Engagement (Bloomsbury, 2026), a forthcoming study by Prof. Dr. Adis Duderija (Griffith University). Situated within the emerging field of Islamic Comparative Theology, the lecture explores contemporary Muslim approaches to interreligious dialogue that are theologically rigorous, methodologically reflective, & ethically transformative. Drawing on Catherine Cornille’s influential framework for constructive interreligious engagement, Prof. Dr. Duderija examines the work of several prominent Muslim thinkers, identifying both the theological resources & the doctrinal challenges within the Islamic tradition for meaningful interreligious engagement. Particular attention is given to Muslim scholarship in the German‑speaking academic context. The lecture argues that sustainable forms of interreligious dialogue require greater methodological self‑consciousness and a deeper engagement with classical Islamic orthodoxy.
